2023 LOCAL APPROPRIATIONS

AMI KIDS Family Centric Services: $1,060,000

Program to divert youth who demonstrate criminal risk factors from initial contact with DJJ or from further Department of Juvenile Justice involvement and incorporate family engagement and alliance so that the prevention and intervention services with youth have a long term impact

Cape Coral Technical College: $1,244,000

Funds will go to the initial phase of expansion for master campus architectural design and engineering plans and costs associated with preconstruction to add two buildings to the campus. These new programs will have an increased student capacity of approximately 200 per year and include: Auto and Marine Service Technology, HVAC-R, Welding, and other construction-related programs.

Crossroads Academy- Infrastructure Improvements due to Hurricane Damage for Foster Care: $300,000

These funds will contribute to the rehabilitation of the Crossroads Academy foster facility on Forever Florida Lands. Hurricane Ian destroyed parts of the facility, and two aging campuses also need improvements. =

Florida Repertory Theatre Repair and Restoration: $750,000

Following the catastrophic Hurricane Ian wind and flood damage, this funding will be used to restore and repair the over 100,000 sq.ft Historic Arcade Theatre and surrounding Florida Rep campus including: education classrooms, ArtStage Theatre, costume/scene shop, rehearsal hall/backstage, box office, employee housing, and offices to original capacity to ensure Florida Rep remains a cultural anchor to downtown Fort Myers

4KIDS SWFL- Hope for Healing Project: $1,250,000

Funds will be used to recruit foster families in FY 24, resulting in up to 60 new families to help to reduce group care placements in circuits 11, 15, 17, 19 & 20, and to positively affect the stability of foster care placements resulting in a stability rate of 3.09 or less moves per 1,000 days in care (25% reduction vs current State goal). Children & families who are a part of the foster and adoptive family unit who are under or uninsured will receive therapeutic services.
